Leaders for the Harvest

What is Leaders for the Harvest?

The Emerging phase (year one) has been offered in the past, but is not being offered at this time.

The Emerging Phase is for disciples who reflect leadership potential as laity or a propensity toward vocational ministry. Character formation is the primary leadership development concern.

This phase involves one year and requires active and committed participation by church leaders from a congregation in four stages of interrelated activities. Each stage includes a curricular grid of instruction, mentoring, experiences, and team-building events.

More specifically, each stage, includes instructional sessions related to developmental themes complemented by opportunities for peer interaction. The curriculum includes Biblical, personal, relational, and functional
foundations of leadership. The types of mentoring relationships include: disciple, spiritual and contemporary model. Experiences provide motivation
and discovery of important leadership lessons, and team-building events
for personal and team development.

The terminal objectives of this phase are: (1) to empower lay leadership development in disciplines related to the character and spiritual formation
of the emerging leader; and (2) to develop identified emerging leaders
toward obedience in the call toward full-time vocational ministries.

The Equipping phase (year two) was offered in the past, but is not being offered at this time.

The equipping phase is for disciples seeking lay leadership development through training in competencies and skills for various Christian leadership capacities or graduate theological education for vocational ministry. Skill formation is the primary leadership development concern.

The developmental progression follows a similar curricular grid of
instruction, mentoring, ministry experiences and team building events.
In addition to the above curricular grid, eager students can also subscribe
to biblical, theological, spiritual and practical course electives through a distributed learning system.

The terminal objectives include the development of leadership skills
related to: (1) developing a biblically informed direction, (2) developing
an appropriate strategy, (3) developing the processes associated with leadership, and (4) developing the team.

The Enriching phase (year three) is not yet available at Adventure-Life Church.
