Life’s
a Journey, Travel Together
Make life-long friends, gain support from people who care
about your spiritual growth in Christ and commit
to “doing life together” in a small group.
Deep
within us all is a desire to belong. Each of us likes to belong to a
group
of people where, in the words of the theme song from the sitcom Cheers,
“everybody
knows your name.” Employees stay on jobs because of this desire.
Even though they might earn more money elsewhere, they stay where they are
because they feel like a valued member of a team. We were not created
for
isolation. We were created for community—with God and with one
another.
Community is at the center of who we are and who God is.
I
would really like to encourage you to become active in a life group.
Meeting
regularly with a small group of believers provides a way to connect with
others,
feel a sense of belonging, and study the Bible so you will be better
equipped
to deal with life in our fast-paced society.
If
you feel you would like to be a part of a life group or if God is
challenging
you to be a small group leader, please see Jeff Heffelfinger or contact
the
Adventure-Life Office and leave a message. Thank you and God bless
you
and your friends in your journey.
