Small Groups Mission Statement

This small group mission statement provides how we are going to Love God, 
Love Others, and Serve the World.

·        Biblical learning

·        Community minded

·        Develop relationships

·        Encourage growth

Approach God: 

(Psalm 8)  We will approach God with praise and marvel at His majesty and His 
role as our creator. 

(Psalm 51.4)  We will approach God with humility, transparency, and be ready 
for restoration.

Biblical learning:

(Psalm 119.1)  We will be blessed by knowing and following God’s Word.

(2 Timothy 3:16)  Teaching that is grounded in the Bible is the perfect tool for
teaching others, making decisions, checking our motives, and training ourselves 
to be prepared to be used by God.

Community minded:

(Psalm 146: 7 – 9)  We will follow God’s model for serving the oppressed, 
fatherless, poor, and those who show humility.

(Matthew 9: 12-13)  We will offer to others the remedy of Jesus, the physician 
who came to cure the disease, not just the symptoms.

Develop relationships: 

(Hebrews 10: 24 – 25)  Gathering together is essential for relationships.  This 
allows the group to stimulate growth in one another’s lives through love and 
honest counsel.

(1 Samuel 20: 42)  Like David and Jonathan’s friendship, small group relationships
are special because we are friends together in the Lord.

Encourage growth:

(John 15: 1 -2)  Growth and evidence of good works are a natural part of 
growing in faith in Jesus Christ.

(1 Timothy 4: 12-16)  Through accountability and the teaching of the scriptures 
to each other, we will be able to see progress being made in faith.
