Vacation Bible School 2010

Vacation Bible School was a big hit this year. The Mission team had a full week of helping kids experience what Missions means and how they could reach out to love others. 

The kids made greeting cards that were sent out to six servicemen stationed in Hawaii, made take home bags to collect food to bring back for the Christian Community Food Pantry, packaged craft kit bags to be delivered to kids at Blank Hospital, washed toys from the church nursery while listening to Missionaries as they talked about their upcoming trip to Africa, and made bead necklaces with Helping Hands to share with their families with "will do for you" promises attached. 

The total number of food items returned came to 887!!

They also bundled thread packages for the missionaries to take with them to Africa as the mission consisted of showing and teaching the community there how to make their own clothes. 

We enjoyed our week with the kids and we thank them for Loving others with joyful hearts.

Pie and Praise

On May 14th we welcomed men from Teen Challenge to share in a special evening of worship and praise.  The" Pie and Praise "evening was filled with testimony and a great night of song praising our Savior, followed by lots of pie! Thanks to all who helped out and to the men from Teen challenge who joined us.

Help for Haiti

Members of ALC generously donated hygiene kits and baby kits along with monetary donations to our Help for Haiti mission.   $1500 total was received in kits and cash.  Please keep them in your prayers.                            

Reminder from the Mission Team

The Mission Team is encouraging any small groups to reach out to anyone who might have a need such as a ride to the grocery store, doctor visit, library, food pantry; help with mowing; or perhaps someone to lend an ear.
