A People of God:  "Rethinking"
Romans 12:2 

 
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, 
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."                                                                          Romans 12:2  

We all live out what’s going on inside of us.  

“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree 
bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit…For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.”                                                    Matthew 12:33-34  

The state of your inner life will inevitably leak out.  

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”                                                                         Philippians 2:5  

“Take every thought captive.”                 2 Corinthians 10:5  

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable… think about such things.”                              Philippians 4:8

When we have a renewed mind, other kinds of thoughts 
just stop showing up.

“One of the signs of spiritual maturity are the thoughts that 
no longer occur to you.”                               Dallas Willard
