What Does This Mean?
“True Happiness in an Evil World”

Matthew 5:1-10

 

How to live for God in an evil world.  

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of
Heaven.”                                                                    
Matthew 5:3  

“For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and
brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.”   

                                                                                       Colossians 1:13
 

1.    Blessed are those whose spirit has been transformed.
 

How are you approaching God?

 
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
 
                                                                                  Matthew 5:4

 

“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who
mourn.”
                                                                 Romans 12:15

 

2.   Blessed are those who are a part of the Church.

 

“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” 
                                                                                  Matthew 5:5
 

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in
humility consider others better than yourselves.  Each of 
you should look not only to your own interests, but also to 
the interests of others.”
                                Philippians 2:3-4

   

3.   Blessed are those whose strength is in God.
 

“My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
