Sermon Notes 8-24-08

What’s a Christian?
Ephesians 2:1-10

1.  Our total need

2.  God’s total help

3.  How to receive God’s total help

It’s only after you experience God’s total help that you discover how much your need was.

Instead of returning to a love relationship with God, we try to fill
it with things that keep us living apart from God.

A Christian is someone who understands our sinful condition
and our need for Jesus.

Christians are people who are both the proof of God’s incredible
grace and the recipients of His kindness.

A Christian is someone who has received the gift of God.

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all –
how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”
                                                                           Romans 8:32

A Christian understands that we cannot fix our life and then
come to Christ; we come to Christ as we are and allow Him to transform our lives.

A Christian is someone who out of joy for what God has done
for them, lives life in a way that is pleasing to God.
