Faith Lessons:  What I Learned from Bible Stories
“Hazor & Jerash:  Living at the Crossroads of Culture”
Matthew 5:14-16
 

You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot
be hidden.  

“Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into
 it without even thinking.  Instead, fix your attention on God. 
You’ll be changed from the inside out…Unlike the culture 
around you, always dragging you down to its level of 
immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-
formed maturity in you.”                                       Romans 12:2

Your life is your walk and your walk is your life.  

Israel set up standing stones as areminder of God’s supernatural
acts to help them.  

“You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual
house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices
acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”           1 Peter 2:5  

Faith Lessons

·       Be an influence.

We are to be living not silent standing stones.

·       Show people that God cares.
